Vinitaly’s activity on foreign markets continues and intensifies to support the export of Italian wine all over the planet.
After a September with Wine South America in Bento Goncalves in Brazil, organized by the Milanez & Milaneze belonging to Gruppo Veronafiere, and the Vinitaly China Roadshow, the next events are in the USA and the Balkans.
The International Wine Expo Chicago will be held in the windy city on 22 and 23 October. This is an event founded in 2011 by Italian Expo US, which this year is being held for the first time in collaboration with Vinitaly.
A reference city in the Midwest, Chicago catalyzes the interest of a historic market for Italian wine in the USA, which has now consolidated itself as the world’s leading wine import market both in terms of volume and value.
In November, however, we return to Europe, to markets that are demonstrating great development potential.
In Belgrade from 16 to 19 November the second edition of Wine Vision by Open Balkan will take place. Wine Vision is a fair created with the patronage of the Governments of Serbia, North Macedonia and Albania.
This year Vinitaly will be responsible for of the organization of the Italy Area in collaboration with ICE Agenzia, to bring Italian wineries to meet with operators from the Balkan area.
These markets are still relatively small in size but offer the advantage of geographical proximity. Above all, they are markets with interesting growth potential, linked both to internal demand for the general progress of the area’s economy and to the development of tourism.
The case of Albania with the boom in Italian tourists in the summer just gone is the most emblematic example.
