LA VIARTE ROSÉ LIENDE 2023

Cosima Grisancich

Schioppettino is a native black grape variety typical of Friuli Venezia Giulia that has seen renewed interest in the wine scene in recent years. Characterized by an aromatic profile of red fruits, spices and a light peppery note, this varietal stands out for its elegance and complexity.

Schioppettino grapes, grown mainly in the Colli Orientali del Friuli, offer wines with great personality, capable of fully expressing the unique terroir of this area. Among the producers who have invested in the redemption of this variety, the La Viarte winery stands out, located in Prepotto, one of the most suitable areas for the cultivation of Schioppettino.

La Viarte has been able to combine tradition and innovation, focusing on the quality of their grapes and on sustainable practices. The winery is well integrated into the Friulian hilly landscape, where the vines grow at 200 meters above sea level. on soils of Eocene origin particularly suited to the cultivation of local varieties.

A recent addition to the legendary collection of La Viarte is the Rosé Liende obtained from Schioppettino grapes. This rosé wine is the result of an accurate winemaking process that involves a brief maceration of the grapes in contact with the skins, in order to extract the right color and the typical aromas of Schioppettino. The wine then rests on the fine lees in steel tanks for 4 months, followed by aging in the bottle for 3 months before being released for sale.

Liende is bright with a beautiful antique pink color. On the nose, fresh notes of strawberry, raspberry and a floral touch of rose emerge, accompanied by a light minerality. On the palate, the lively acidity of the red fruit makes the sip elegant and dynamic, giving excellent freshness and a long persistence.

As for food pairings, the Rosé Liende lends itself to many occasions.

It is ideal to serve with seafood appetizers, such as tuna and salmon carpaccio or shellfish salads; it also pairs beautifully with light pasta dishes, such as linguine with fresh tomatoes, burrata and basil.

In addition, its aromatic profile pairs well with cold cuts and fresh cheeses. Excellent with vegetable-based first courses, such as mushroom risotto or with seitan-based dishes, for a vegan alternative full of flavor.

In short, the Rosé Liende by La Viarte is not just a wine to be enjoyed, but an authentic invitation to discover the unique terroir of Friuli, an oenological jewel that deserves to be shared and appreciated.
