The 32nd Mondial des Vins Extrêmes: A Dive into Mountain Wines.

If you think the world of wine is all the same, prepare to change your mind with the 32nd Mondial des Vins Extrêmes! This unique event, dedicated to wines produced in extreme conditions, celebrates the brave winemakers who brave altitudes and harsh terrains to create true works of art in the bottle.

The Mondial des Vins Extrêmes is not your average wine competition. Here it is not just about choosing the best wine, but about highlighting the stories behind each bottle. We are talking about vineyards perched on steep slopes, rocky terrain and breathtaking altitudes. It is a hymn to the passion and resilience of those who produce wine in truly extreme conditions.

Each year, this competition attracts hundreds of wines from all over the world, with a particular focus on those from mountainous or difficult-to-grow regions. From the Italian Alps to the South American Andes, passing through the unique terroirs of the Rhone Valley and volcanic islands. Each wine tells a story of defiance and triumph over natural adversity.

The Mondial des Vins Extrêmes brings together winemakers from all over the world. Whether you are a small-scale winemaker working a few hectares of steep terrain or a medium-sized winery growing vines in volcanic soil, this is the perfect stage to showcase the fruits of your hard work.

In addition to tastings, the Mondial des Vins Extrêmes offers a series of side events that make the experience even more immersive. Lectures, workshops and guided tours of local vineyards allow participants to fully immerse themselves in the world of extreme wines. It is an opportunity to learn, exchange ideas and, of course, enjoy great wines in good company.

This event is much more than just a competition: it is a recognition of the hard work and dedication of those who produce wine in unconventional conditions. By celebrating these wines, we also promote biodiversity, sustainability and the preservation of local winemaking traditions, which could otherwise be lost.

The Mondial des Vins Extrêmes is organized by CERVIM – Center for Research, Studies, Safeguarding, Coordination and Valorization for Mountain Viticulture and will be held in Sarre – Aosta, Italy on September 29 and 30. The fourth edition of the Extreme Spirits International Contest, dedicated to spirits, will also take place at the same time.

Producers can register until Saturday, September 7th and the participation form can be found on the event website www.mondialvinsextremes.com.

To participate, producers must meet one of the following criteria:

• Altitude greater than 500 m above sea level, excluding viticultural systems on plateaus.

• Slopes of the land greater than 30%.

• Viticultural systems on terraces or steps.

• Viticultural systems on small islands.
